Beware of Electric Bike Online Review Sites:

First a word on the many online Fat Tire Electric Bike Review sites and YouTube E-Bike review videos. While these sites may look legit and impartial, many are affiliate sites for specific brands of Electric Bikes. This means that they are getting paid for advertising the manufacturer’s E-Bikes, or are getting paid for the leads generated from their click-throughs to that specific manufacturer’s website. To get more news about ebike for sale, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Electrek.co used to publish valuable information on the Electric Bike industry. But now it just seems like they care more about the advertising revenue generated from their sponsors.

In June 2020, they published an article entitled: The Truth: How far can an electric bicycle really go on a single charge? Which detailed the math on how to determine Distance per Charge using the correct factors, specifically the E-Bike’s components. Yet many of their advertisers are allowed to post ads with incredibly false claims that can’t possibly be realistic based on the bike’s components. This deception does our industry a big disservice especially when a customer gets their E-Bike and tests it and its performance doesn’t match the manufacturers’ claims.

At that E-Bike Guy, we are determined to educate an Electric Bike consumer on all the facts so they can make an informative decision on which E-Bike will be the best for that consumer’s specific needs.
None of the Lectric Electric Bikes have a range of 100+ miles as claimed. They are only 20ah max with math 20ah X 48v = 960 Watt-Hours; divided by 25 = 40 miles max. Don’t buy this if you can’t pedal more the 50 miles worth on your own. In our opinion, if you want an E-Bike, you don’t want to pedal that far.
Hard To Pedal Electric Bike
The main disadvantage of fat tire e-bikes is that they are difficult to pedal, especially on flat surfaces where the entire tire is in consistent contact with the ground. The more tires that are in contact with the ground, the more resistance you will face when pedaling. The electric motor can really reduce or even completely eliminate this problem, but if your battery is low and you're exhausted, and you can't charge it, you might be in for some trouble.

Expensive Electric Bike
Fat tires are more expensive than regular tires because fat tires require special parts such as wheels, rims, tubes, etc. Fat tire bikes also usually don't have a suspension system because the tire acts as its own shock absorber, and if you need a suspension system, it's going to be more expensive.

Electric Bikes That Are Hard To Repair
You can be tricky when parts on a fat tire e-bike break or need to be replaced, as fat tire e-bike parts are more expensive and harder to obtain than skinny tire e-bike parts. While they are growing in popularity, thin tire e-bike parts are easier to find at low cost. But in contrast, fat tire bikes are not easy to break.

Conclusion
E-bikes have fat tires because they can handle slick terrain and sandy beaches. Fat tires are more comfortable when riding over bumps because they absorb rough terrain better. These 4” thick tires can also burn more fat since you pedal harder, with the thick treads also building balance and traction. The sheer thickness of fat tires over skinny tires makes them very durable.

Electric bike maintenance: how to look after your ebike

If you’re thinking about buying an electric bike, you’ll want to know how to take care of it. The best electric bikes can be expensive, so to keep yours in the best condition you’ll need to have a regime of regular maintenance. To get more news about ebike maintaince, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

This guide explains how to look after your electric bike, including tips on washing the bike, applying lubricants, regular component checks, software and app updates, and looking after the battery. If you’re not sure where to start, our beginner’s guide to electric bikes will explain the ebike basics.

The essentials of electric bike maintenance are the same whether you’re looking at an electric road bike, an electric hybrid bike or an electric folding bike.Proper maintenance, particularly of the drivetrain, is even more important if you’re riding off-road, whether that’s on an electric mountain bike or an electric gravel bike, because dirt and debris can quickly take a toll on expensive components.

An electric bike, like any bike, needs regular maintenance. Cleaning and taking care of your ebike will keep it running smoothly, efficiently and safely, all of which can contribute to a longer lifespan for the bike and its battery and motor. In many senses, electric bicycle maintenance is no different from that of a non-assisted bike. However, some components, and particularly the drivetrain (cranks, chain and sprockets), are subject to greater forces and increased wear.

Therefore, washing your ebike regularly and keeping it well maintained is of utmost importance if you want to get the most out of the bike.

First things first, a clean bike is a happy bike. Dirt and mud increase wear on components and, when mixed with water and grease, can form a paste that will, at best, decrease the efficiency of your bike and, at worst, quickly wear through consumable parts.

The smoother your electric bike runs, the more efficient it will be, and the longer your key components will last.

Keep the drivetrain clean and running well: battery life and power output are irrelevant if your gears are grinding and skipping all over the place. Riding a bike with a clean, efficient drivetrain, along with correctly adjusted gears, is ultimately a more pleasurable experience and will help you get the most from the bike in the long run.If your drivetrain looks excessively dirty (usually an accumulation of black gunk on the chain or, on electric mountain bikes in particular, mud stuck in the jockey wheels of the rear derailleur), you can give it a quick clean with a rag, or a deep clean with degreaser. We’ve got separate guides on how to clean a bike and how to clean a bike chain.

Electric bike chains tend to require more frequent lubrication than non-assisted bicycle chains. Regularly applying a quality lubricant to your chain will ensure the transmission runs efficiently. It’s a good idea to do this after every ride, and certainly after washing and drying the bike.

Otherwise, read our guide on how to choose and apply the best chain lube for your bike.

Applying lubricant to an ebike sometimes isn’t as simple as it seems. You can’t back-pedal most ebikes, so try putting the bike in a workstand (or get a friend to hold the rear wheel off the ground) so you can turn the pedals to let the lube drip onto the chain evenly.

If your bike has a ‘walk’ mode, you can engage it so that the cranks (and rear wheel) spin around slowly, allowing you to lube the chain easily. You should also regularly check your ebike’s tyre pressures. Under-inflated tyres are not only potentially dangerous, but they can also waste power and reduce efficiency, meaning you’ll get less out of a battery charge. Equally, running tyres at too high a pressure can compromise comfort and grip, especially if you’re riding off-road.

As a starting point, keep your tyres inflated to within the recommended pressures indicated on the sidewall but experiment to find the ideal pressure for you, balancing weight, comfort, grip and rolling resistance. Want to know more? We’ve got guides to road bike tyre pressure and mountain bike tyre pressure.

Start Them Young With Bulls Bikes’ Twenty4 Kid-Friendly Electric Mountain Bike

electric bikes are growing in popularity at a rapid rate. While e-bikes are perfect for commuting and recreational rides to the park, they’re also awesome toys for sport. Kids are beginning to get in on the action, too, with more and more bicycle makers releasing kid-friendly electric bicycles. Besides, since e-bikes are well and truly the future of two-wheeled mobility, there’s surely no harm in starting them young—so long as you do so in a safe and controlled environment. To get more news about ebike accessories, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

The Twenty4 E from Bulls Bikes fills that exact need; it's a tool ready to help your youngster learn the ropes of the two-wheeled lifestyle, regardless if it's mountain biking, road cycling, or even motorcycling they wish to pursue in a few years' time. Of course , they'll ultimately outgrow this one, but the $3,500 USD fancy electric bicycle shown below will undeniably enhance your child's enjoyment of cycling in the meantime. To get more news about rad rover 5, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

A Bosch Active Line Plus with an output of 250 watts is mounted in the center of the bicycle's frame. Bulls says that the bike has a top speed restriction of 15.5 mph, which is more than adequate for a kid's bike, and will offer them a taste of full-size tech and performance. Bulls claims that the Twenty4 can generate up to 134 miles of range on a single charge when used with a 500 Wh Bosch PowerPack. Of course, a plethora of variables, like the condition of the roads, the rider's weight, the load, and tire pressure, affect this.To get more news about waterproof bag for bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
There are a few great reasons for the use of an internal battery. We made the Shuttle SL over a pound (.5kg) lighter by designing our frame around the internal battery. Not only is the non-removable battery lighter but we were able to reduce wall thickness, and eliminate the additional parts needed for the removable version.

The integrated battery gives the Shuttle SL a beautiful profile with its slim clean downtube. In a pursuit to make our bikes as quiet as possible the integrated battery means there are fewer moving parts and a more secure fit for everything inside the frame making sure the only thing you hear is your tires on the trail and the nature surrounding you.
All rechargeable batteries gradually store less power with each recharge. FAZUA’s battery unit is designed to provide 1,000 recharges before it reaches the point at which replacing the battery is advised. At that point, the battery will hold 60% of its capacity vs. when new.

How much does it weigh?

The Shuttle SL’s lightest World Cup build starts at 36.25 lbs (under 16.5kg). Pivot bicycles are among the lightest available, but the weight is only one of many factors that make a great bicycle. Other aspects such as frame stiffness, strength, durability, and ride quality are just as important as weight to our engineers when designing the Shuttle SL. Instead of comparing grams, we suggest you visit your local Pivot dealer and see our attention to detail, smart, high-value spec, and class-leading features, but most of all the incredible performance of the new Shuttle SL. Bring a scale if you’d like, but take just one demo ride and you’ll feel why the Shuttle SL is the most well-rounded, highest performing e-bike on the market and, yes, it is among the lightest as well.

How wide of a tire can I run on the Shuttle SL?

The Shuttle SL can run 29-inch wheels with MAXXIS tires up to 2.4-inches wide. For other tires in the market, most will fit up to these dimensions. If you decide to change the tires or wheels that we have on our builds, we suggest you check the fit with your chosen rim and tire combination to make sure it has proper clearance.

Harley-Davidson Announced an Actual Electric Mountain Bike This Time

Harley-Davidson’s Serial 1 brand recently unveiled its second mountain e-bike, and this time it actually has suspension. The brand’s first electric mountain bike didn’t, which was rather odd.To get more news about ebike accessories, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Over the last few years, Harley-Davidson has pushed into the world of electrification. By launching its own LiveWire electric motorcycle brand and, more recently, electric mountain bikes under the name Serial 1.

In May, the brand’s first e-MTB was the BASH, featuring a fully rigid aluminum frame and fork. There is no front or rear suspension, no seat dropper post, and nothing to handle bumps and rocks as you rip down some single track. The seat did have about 50mm of travel, but as any modern rider knows, that’s not enough.Well, we have good news. Harley-Davidson just dropped the new Serial 1 SWITCH/MTN electric hardtail mountain bike with front suspension. It’s still not full suspension, mind you, but the “SR Suntour ZERON35 BOOST AIR suspension fork” comes in 130, 140, or 150mm of travel. To get more news about rad rover 5, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

That’s not all, either. Like many expected from the first e-MTB, the Switch comes complete with a TranzX dropper seat post. Other specs include a 90 Nm mid-drive motor with high clearance to go over rocks and tree stumps on the trail and a proprietary in-frame 529 Wh removable battery. To get more news about waterproof bag for bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Serial 1 says the SWITCH/MTN is ready for adventure, stating its “extremely off-road capable, SWITCH/MTN has the performance to satisfy an expert rider, but careful attention to fit and fine details ensure that our latest eMTB is just as accessible and accommodating for riders who are just beginning their off-road adventure too.”

The large battery and Brose S Mag motor can deliver speeds upwards of 20MPH (throttle-controlled) or faster while you pedal and between 30-95 miles of range, depending on usage. You’ll also enjoy an SRAM Eagle drivetrain, knobby and grippy Michelin off-road tires, easy-to-tune air suspension up front, along with hydraulic disc brakes and LED lights on the front and rear.

Is North America poised for an e-cargo bike boom?

Cargo bikes have a long history of use in the Netherlands, so it’s not surprising that it took a Dutchman to create one of North America’s largest electric cargo bike delivery services. To get more news about ebike accessories, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

With a fleet of 130 Tern HSD e-cargo bikes pulling motorized Carla cargo trailers, in addition to its walkers and van drivers, Dutch-X experienced a growth spurt during the pandemic due to the increased demand for home food deliveries and the growth of online shopping. To get more news about rad rover 5, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Amazon and its subsidiaries Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh comprise more than half of Dutch-X’s business, with other “grocery fulfillment” contracts for New York supermarket chains and food purveyors including Eataly comprising the largest chunk of Dutch-X revenue. To get more news about waterproof bag for bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Now, founder Marcus Hoed is looking beyond New York City. “We hope to expand to more cities this year,” Hoed said, declining to mention the locations. “We have tested and proven our business models here in New York, one of most challenging cities on the planet, so we know this is viable.”
Hoed is not alone in his optimism for electric cargo bikes to replace many delivery vans in American cities — and play a larger role as workhorses for the movement of goods in a cleaner, greener, timelier, and more affordable and efficient manner. Tern has launched the Tern Business initiative aimed at companies seeking high-quality electric fleet bikes, and in Wisconsin a startup named Fleet Cycles will roll out a pilot program this summer to test its U.S.-made heavy-duty electric trikes in 10 cities.

One only need look to cargo-bike-crazy Europe for inspiration. A survey of 38 European cargo bike brands by Cyclelogistics indicated that they expected their 2021 sales to grow by about 66%. E-cargo bikes are especially effective for so-called “last-mile” deliveries in congested city centers, where pollution from idling delivery vans is a public health and climate concern.

Electric cargo bikes deliver about 60% faster than vans in city centers while also reducing carbon emissions by 90% compared to diesel vans, and by a third compared to electric vans, according to a 2021 study from the UK. A Dutch study that said e-cargo bikes are a perfect alternative for about 20% of all delivery vans operating in large cities.

While the potential is great, the movement to replace vans, golf carts and other delivery vehicles with e-cargo bikes is still in its infancy in the United States.

Saris announced an effort in 2020 to partner with Urban Arrow, the Dutch e-cargo bike brand, and the e-bike motor supplier Bosch to build and distribute commercial e-cargo bikes to the public sector. Contacted by BRAIN, Saris said its pilot project in Portland, Ore., and Madison, Wis., was well-received but had been discontinued.

“We saw tons of potential in this space but ultimately made the decision last year that the eCargo Bike division did not make sense as part of our larger business at the time,” said Chris Bauch, product manager for Saris Infrastructure. Tern Business is one of the industry’s most high-profile efforts to develop fleet sales in the emerging e-cargo market. Announced at Eurobike 2019 with plans to launch in spring 2020, Tern put the initiative on hold for a year. “Covid hit and we wanted to focus on our dealers and helping them survive, so we didn’t feel like we could take bikes away for our business program,” said Tern’s Arleigh Greenwald, best known for her past work running Bike Shop Girl Family Cyclery.

Typically, our dealers are the middlemen” for Tern’s fleet, Greenwald said. Dealers also generate revenue by servicing clients’ bike fleets. “It’s creating different streams of income for our dealers. As we build out the different industries and verticals, our dealers can sell to the pizza shops and local businesses that are coming to them instead of to a car dealer.”

Tern Business is primarily a storytelling platform that presents case studies of how Tern’s e-cargo bikes are being used to replace car and van fleets. Tern is courting municipalities, colleges, and businesses of all sizes with delivery or cargo hauling needs.

One barrier for growth is a lack of awareness that e-cargo bikes even exist, and that they are viable. “We are talking to various cities, and they want to be able to point to other cities and point to successes,” Greenwald said. Tern also wants to change the perception of corporate fleet bikes as cheaply made and intended to be scrapped and replaced frequently.

“We are looking to work with companies that want to have bikes for five to 10 years instead of turning them over every year,” Greenwald said, noting that Tern is highlighting the quality and safety of its e-bikes. Municipalities, in particular, need UL-certified e-bikes to prevent, in the jargon of the New York City Fire Department, “thermal instances.” Horror stories of uncertified e-bike batteries catching fire have made headlines and caused harm in recent years. “Everything on our Bosch e-bikes is UL-certified,” Greenwald said.

The e-bike conversion market quietly revs up in the wake of the e-bike boom

Shop owner Brad Davis’s career as an e-bike entrepreneur offers a peek inside an often overlooked but increasingly profitable corner of the electric bike market: e-bike conversions. To get more news about ebike for sale, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

A decade or more ago, before the industry pivoted and began pumping out e-bikes in all shapes, sizes, and price points, many e-bikes on American streets were DIY retrofits. Early adopters had to figure out how to install a motor and battery system themselves or find a shop to do it.To get more news about e bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

“There wasn’t anything good on the market,” said Davis, who saw an opportunity. Thirteen years ago, he co-founded EcoSpeed, an early e-bike conversion kit that never really took off. “The batteries all kind of sucked.”

Davis pulled the plug on EcoSpeed six years ago and opened Nomad Cycles, which specializes in converting existing bikes with aftermarket motors — mostly from Bafang. “Essentially, Bafang came out with their BBSHD system, and it was so good and so cheap that we just started buying theirs.”Multiple dealers and suppliers interviewed for this story said Bafang is the top motor supplier in the conversion market. “Bafang is the market leader for North America by far. They have their thumb on the conversion market,” said Adam Ostlund, co-founder of Electrify Bike Company in West Jordan, Utah. To get more news about electric bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Other motor manufacturers supplying the domestic conversion market include Tongsheng — like Bafang, based in China — and CYC Motors out of Hong Kong. Promovec is a Danish brand that has opened a U.S. office with plans to begin selling conversion kits to dealers.

Other suppliers include smaller brands like Electric Bike Outfitters in Denver that source motors, battery cells and electronics from China and re-brand them for dealer and direct-to-consumer sales.

Electrify Bike Company, located in the greater Salt Lake City metro area, has expanded into multiple sales channels in recent years, offering conversion kits for sale to both dealers and consumers, doing conversions for walk-in customers and now opening a retail store to sell its own branded e-bikes. “We will build up existing bike brands and sell those as conversions,” said Ostlund.

Dealers say that price is a key factor in why consumers choose a conversion rather than a complete e-bike off a showroom floor. For the cost of a heavy, entry level e-bike, consumers who own a nice bike or frame can continue riding it with an electric conversion.

“A lot of people already own really nice bikes, but for a variety of reasons they can’t or don’t ride them anymore,” Ostlund said. “The motors we use for conversions are often the same motors used on pre-built e-bikes.” Reliable data on the size of the domestic e-bike conversion market is scant, but retailers and suppliers say sales are booming. Consultant and Light Electric Vehicle Association Chairman Ed Benjamin analyzed Customs import records to estimate that about 24,000 DIY kits entered the country last year.

Benjamin cautioned that this opaque market is challenging to track and his count may be low.

Asked to describe their customers’ demographics, dealers said they are often older individuals and retirees — the same consumers courted by e-bike brands.

Another customer base is individuals with physical challenges or injuries that need a trike or hand cycle or adaptive bike.

“You can save thousands of dollars” by converting an existing acoustic adaptive bike or trike, said Livingston, a mechanical engineer who founded EBO in 2015 after undergoing chemotherapy that scarred his lungs. He converted a bike to electric assist and found it helped his healing.

What You Need to Know: An excellent introduction to electric bikes, the SWFT Fleet Cruiser is relatively affordable and, perhaps most importantly, approachable. If you're on the fence about e-bikes or are afraid to have too much power, this bike is for you. The Fleet will make you a total e-bike convert—even out of the most adamant naysayers. With a sleek, beachy look that stands up to its title of "cruiser," the Fleet features vegan leather detailing, a comfortable, plush seat and a detachable, rechargeable battery that's easy to juice up.

It also features a throttle that takes advantage of the bike's 500W motor, and when you use it conservatively, the bike can get up to about 37.2 miles per charge. And though this e-bike makes a great introductory bike for its accessibility and the fact that it's lightweight, it's also no joke. Either via pedal-assist or throttle, you can get up to 20 miles per hour on the Fleet.
User reviews: One reviewer wrote, "These bikes are so much fun! They were pretty easy to assemble and it didn't take long to get used to the power assist and the power assist is wonderful. I go through the same path as with my standard bike and I never have to stand up pedaling nor walk the bike. And I get all the exercise I want."

What You Need to Know: No doubt you've heard the name Cannondale! A trusted brand in the biking world, Cannondale makes an epic e-bike in the form of the Adventure Neo 3 EQ. Great for everyday traveling through the city or cruising down open roads, the Adventure Neo 3 EQ features 9-speed shifting, hydraulic disc brakes and a 400Wh battery. With double the range of some of these other bikes, this Cannondale can—at its best—get you 65 miles on one charge. Also very lightweight and featuring a step-through frame for easy dismounting, the pedal-assist on this e-bike works up to 20 miles per hour. But even cooler is that you can customize the pedal-assist setting that you're on. Need the 20? Turn it up to Turbo. Need less? Keep it on its "slower" settings.

The Adventure Neo 3 EQ also has a convenient walk-assist feature. This attribute provides extra support should you need to get off the bike and walk beside it—maybe while navigating an obstacle or walking the bike across a cross-walk..
If the SWFT Cruiser is a bit too small for you, no worries—it sounds like the SWFT Volt Electric Bike is more up your alley. For riders 5 feet 9 inches and up, the Volt is an excellent option for frequent riders going on everyday adventures. With a durable yet lightweight 26-inch steel frame and road tires with ideal traction for the smoothest ride possible, the Volt makes a perfect everyday bike for commuters. The LCD tracks your stats as you go—monitoring speed, throttle, the built-in headlight, pedal assist and battery level. But our favorite part? It's sleek as hell! With all of the appearance of a traditional single-speed bike or mountain bike, the Volt even has a hidden (but still chargeable) battery for a sleeker look.

Speaking of that out-of-sight battery, it's a 6V 10 mAH lithium-ion battery with a 600-cycle lifespan designed to last up to 32 miles before needing a recharge. The Volt also has a throttle option (so no need to keep pedaling once you've activated the pedal-assist) and can crank up to 20 miles per hour.

5 Mistakes You should Never Make with an Ebike

When it comes to riding electric bikes, there are many things you can do, such as riding to a park to have a picnic or to the beach for the sunset. I believe for most of you guys, ebikes can lead you to a happier and more pleasant world. To get more news about ebike for sale, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

However, do you really know those things you can’t do before taking your fat tire electric bikes for sale out? Since electric bikes are not regular bikes, there are still some points you need to pay attention to. So in this article, I will tell you 5 things you should never do to your ebikes. These mistakes may be easily made by ebike beginners, just stick with us.To get more news about e bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

1. Avoid washing ebikes upside down
Sometimes when you ride off-road or just on dirt or sand, your ebikes for sale will be dirty. I know it might be quite tempting to put your ebikes upside down so that you can clean your drivetrains, wheels, tires, and things like that easily, but this will possibly fill your ebikes with water. Here is the reason: normally, most ebikes are manufactured with drain holes at the bottom. You can check that on your own. One of the purposes of the hole is to allow that water to drain out naturally with gravity when you are washing your electric bikes. However, if you wash them upside down, chances are they will be filled with water and the water won’t be able to drain out naturally. To get more news about electric bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
2. Don't leave your ebike battery empty after a ride.
In fact, one of the worst things you can do for your ebike batteries is to leave them empty after a long ride. Sometimes you may forget to charge your ebikes and put them aside. It is okay if there is still 60 or 70 percent left for your battery. However, if they are empty completely, then leaving your electric bikes without charging them will definitely impact your battery's health because it will possibly make your batteries work improperly.
3. Leave your ebikes on charge for longer than they should be.
No matter which devices you need to charge, you may forget to unplug the chargers occasionally. This also applies to ebike charging. Sometimes you might leave your electric bikes on charge for days, even weeks. And leaving those chargers connected to your ebikes isn't a good thing at all, even though there are many smart chargers on the market, which will turn off automatically once the battery is full, This is because even if the batteries discharge only 1%, smart chargers will normally restart automatically. And the cycling will happen over and over again if you are really going to keep them charging for a long time, which will hurt the batteries as well.
4. Never contaminate your disc brakes
It may not be easy for you to notice that, but the discs of your brakes are easily contaminated, even only touching them gently with your fingers can cause contamination. The reason for this is with contamination on discs, there may be squealing and consistent noise whenever the brakes are applied. And this will also weaken the braking force more or less. Therefore, don't get into that habit of touching them or spraying anything onto them at all. However, even though you don’t touch the discs, they will still be contaminated more or less, which means you are getting less braking force day by day.
5. Ignore the need for supplies
Some riders tend to take nothing with them when they are planning to go out for a long ride. Obviously, it is not recommended. There are always urgent situations where you need tools or spares to get you out of trouble. Moreover, when it comes to food and water, you need to take more of that than you expect. There is nothing worse than feeling hungry and dehydrated when you are riding out for a long time. And once you feel exhausted and hungry, you will lose interest in your long ride.

Therefore, before your long ride, remember to prepare yourself a pannier bag that is large enough to store things needed. Here I recommend Magicycle Pannier Waterproof Bag, which is 20L and compatible with all the cycling necessities like thin clothes, shoes, toiletry bag, laptop, bike repairing tools, etc.

What to know about electric bicycles

Believe it or not, electric bicycles — e-bikes, more commonly — are actually one of the oldest forms of motorized transportation. US patents for them date back to the 1890s, though of course they never really caught on until over a century later. Today the e-bike scene is exploding, fueled not just by better technology but the growing number of people who work from home or otherwise don’t need to drive every day. This guide should help judge whether an e-bike makes sense and what to look for when buying one, as well as offer a few choice picks to consider. To get more news about ebike accessories, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Ignoring the gritty details, at its most basic an e-bike simply adds a battery, motor, and controller to the gears and frame of a conventional bicycle. In fact if you know what you’re doing, it’s not too difficult to convert a conventional bike, or even build an e-bike from scratch. Companies like Swytch sell off-the-shelf conversion kits, and the best DIY designs can be as good as or better than commercial products for less money. To get more news about rad rover 5, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

There are just as many styles of e-bike as there are conventional ones: city, mountain, cargo, foldable, recumbent, you name it. Often products check multiple boxes. A style that appears frequently in the electric world, though, is the fat-tire bike. Fat tires offer extra comfort, traction, and stability, and since they have a motor behind them, the added weight isn’t much of a concern. E-bikes in general tend to be heavy — it’s hard to find good ones under 50lbs (22.7kg), and some of the most powerful top 100lbs (45.4kg).To get more news about waterproof bag for bike, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.
A few manufacturers exploit the benefits of fat tires to blur the lines with broader EV categories. Companies like Ariel, Juiced, and Super73 offer what are effectively electric mopeds, designed to used throttle-only in many situations, with pedaling as a backup or a speed/range assist. A handful of bikes, such as the Onyx RCR and Sur Ron X, take this to the point that they’re effectively motorcycles — their pedals exist for the sake of legally qualifying as an e-bike.

E-bikes are probably the most versatile form of personal electric vehicle (PEV). The right models can carry cargo or passengers, and there’s a plethora of ready-made customization options — even some that will let you ride in snow. Their range is typically higher than electric scooters and skateboards, and if their batteries run dry you can still pedal home, although you might end up tired and sweaty. The learning curve is minimal too. If you can ride a manual bike, you can ride an electric one.

There are many factors to consider when buying, beginning with space, weight, and transportation. Unless it folds, any e-bike is going to take up a lot of space, which can be problematic if you live in an apartment. Heavier models can be difficult (or impossible) to carry upstairs or on public transit. If you want to take one on trips, size and weight may mean you’ll need a truck or a specialized car rack. It’s possible to slip e-bikes into some sedans, crossovers, SUVs, or even compacts, but without folding it’s often only by putting the seats down and/or removing one of the bike’s wheels.

Another issue created by size is security. Many building operators force people to lock bikes up outside, where they’re inherently more vulnerable to theft. E-bikes in particular can be lucrative targets, so if you’re going to buy one, check that your intended stops are safe. If you live in a sketchy neighborhood you might want to consider vehicles you can take indoors without any resistance — namely electric boards, unicycles, or scooters. If you do get an e-bike, there are things you can do to improve security, which we’ll cover later on.
Legality is a lesser concern with e-bikes than it is with other PEVs, but it’s still something to worry about. Where you can ride is governed not just by state or provincial laws, but often by county and municipal regulations. It can, for example, be illegal to ride on sidewalks in one city, while another might demand it if the alternative is mixing with high-speed car traffic. There are places that won’t allow e-bikes on park paths even when manual bikes are zipping through at the same speed.

Governments also frequently impose performance caps. Whereas much of the US is effectively unlimited, Canada for instance requires that all e-bikes be capped at 500W unless they’re used off-road, and there are tougher restrictions in countries like India and Norway. Where those caps are in effect, it may be possible to circumvent them by getting a license and registration, but that costs time and money that defeats the simplicity of a PEV.

The enforcement of e-bike rules can vary wildly, whether for better or worse. Police aren’t necessarily familiar with PEV regulations, and wattages can be difficult to check if they’re not openly labeled. Beyond following the letter of the law, the safest strategy is to avoid drawing attention — if you’re not causing problems for cars or pedestrians, there’s usually no reason to stop you.
