How Long Do e-Bike Batteries Last?

Determining the battery life of an e-Bike is not only calculated on the number of cycle charges they can take before they gradually go on flat. There are a lot of factors to consider in knowing the life span of a battery. To get more news about how long do ebike battery last, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Some of these factors would be the surrounding conditions like temperature fluctuations, age of the battery, etc. Also, the type of battery being used is to be considered. What is the average battery life of an e-Bike?
On average, a typical electronic bike battery can surpass 800 full charge cycles. It can sometimes go up to a thousand charge cycles depending on the type of battery used.

Now, we need to understand that charging the battery from 30% – 100% is not a “one full charge cycle”. We must keep in mind that we can only count it as “one charge cycle” if the battery was at 0% – 100%.

In general, if we consider the type of battery being used, the battery’s age, and how often the battery was charged, we can safely say that batteries on e-Bikes can last anywhere from 3 – 5 years.
3 Types of e-Bike batteries
1. Lithium Batteries
It is the most reliable battery used on e-Bikes. More than 90% of e-Bike batteries in the market are composed of lithium. These batteries can generate more power, lasts longer, and is lighter than the other batteries. Because of this, it also is the most expensive among the three.

– Average charge cycle before it needs replacing: up to 1000 charge cycle

Lithium-ion (Li-ion) – most popular with longer life span
Lithium-ion Subcategories:
Lithium Cobalt (LCO) – higher energy density (provides optimal power), lesser weight
Lithium Manganese (LiMg204) – Hybrid, the same type used in hybrid cars.
Lithium-ion Polymer (Li-pol) – unique, this battery has no liquid components. Less prone to being damaged through misuse.
2. Nickel Batteries
It has the same power in comparison to lithium-ion batteries. Unfortunately, nickel batteries have high tendencies to self-discharge faster than the other ones on this list.

– Average charge cycle before it needs replacing: around 500 charge cycle

Nickel-cadmium (NiCd) – rare to find these days as they became a toxic pollutant to the environment, these batteries are very hard to recycle. More capacity than lead-acid batteries.
Nickel-metal Hydride (NiMh) – more efficient than NiCd but it costs more. These batteries are easier to recycle and tend to last longer.
3. Lead Batteries
This type of battery is the oldest among lithium and nickel. While it is the cheapest you can find in the market right now, it has a few drawbacks. Lead-acid batteries are heavy. It is five times heavier than lithium-ion batteries. Aside from this, it has a short life span in comparison to the other two. It’s not good to purchase lead-acid batteries if you are going to use your e-Bike regularly.

The Best Bike Mirrors (Review) in 2022

Bicycle enthusiasts and seasoned cyclists of all ages need durable gear and accessories to keep them safe while they’re riding their bikes. There are many accessories that are designed to enhance one’s cycling experience. Bike mirrors are a valuable accessory that can improve safety in city streets, highways and mountain trails. These mirrors can be mounted on handlebars, helmets, and even on sunglasses. They are incredibly practical and ideal for both recreational and professional cycling. If bicycle mirrors are on your shopping list and you have no idea what to look for in terms of features and brands, then our best bike mirrors guide below should steer you in the right direction. To get more news about ebike mirrors, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Our top pick is by Hafny, which uses stainless steel in its manufacturing process. This feature alone is enough to reel in eco-friendly riders who want to reduce their carbon footprint and spend their money on durable non-plastic bike accessories. Stainless steel mirrors are recyclable, and the lens is unbreakable. These two qualities are accompanied by a high-impact frame that can be folded whenever the bike is not in use. The mirror can also be rotated at a 360-degree angle, giving you full control over its position. Plus, you can easily attach it to any kind of bike be it a mountain, city or road bike in just a few easy steps.

Our next mirror is also a great helmet accessory that allows you to keep an eye on the road behind you, especially when cycling down busy streets with intersections. The Safe Zone mirror from EVT is easy to install and is made by a company with 20 years of experience in designing and building bicycle repair tools. Their helmet mirror is 2.25 inches with an adjustable arm that can be easily attached to any helmet of your choice using durable straps. The Safe Zone bicycle rear view mirror is large enough to uncover any blind spots and sturdy enough for a daily commute to work. It is also designed with bumpy roads in mind and can be easily stored and transported when not in use.

The MTB bar end mirror from Mirrycle is one of the best handlebar mirrors available. This accessory can be mounted in minutes and features a round 3-inch lens with a durable black arm. You can easily adjust the mirror to better suit your riding needs. This is an ideal feature for people who prefer placing the mirror below the handlebars. Plus, the large mirror surface rewards you with a better rearward view while speeding down your favorite bike lane.

Premium cycle mirrors like the Hafny handlebar bike mirror offer you the best of both worlds in terms of durability and features. The frame on this model is made of an environmentally friendly combo of nylon and fiber with an aluminum clamp that prevents scratches on the handlebars. The blue lens mirror was originally used in cars and reduces glare by 60 percent. This feature alone can come in handy during summer when the sun becomes a nuisance, especially when going on long rides during the day. The convex surface also gives you a wider field of view while cycling. The flexible rotation ball connected to the mirror allows you to control the angle and position of the lens. This means you can position it under or parallel to the handlebars.

The Take a Look mirror is a compact accessory and a bike helmet mirror with many great features. You can attach it to your eyeglasses and rotate it using the multiple pivot points easily while cycling. Keeping tabs on any moving vehicles behind you is possible with minimal head movement or eye strain on your part thanks to the wide field of vision it provides. Plus, the durable stainless steel and brass frame were built for regular use and will not rust or lose their sturdiness with time. Take A Look is frameless and is a great alternative to traditional handlebar mirrors.

The CycleAware Reflex bicycle helmet mirror is another great option for seasoned cyclists. It has everything you need in a bicycle accessory in terms of size and adjustability. The oval length mirror is not only lightweight, but it can also be attached to all helmet types in just a few easy steps. You no longer have to strain your eyes or glance over your shoulder to check for speeding vehicles once you install this must-have accessory. The ball and socket combo are also a plus since you can alter the position of the mirror with a slight touch of your finger.

Handlebar mirrors like the DRCK HROS mirror were designed with your road safety in mind. The mirror itself is convex and made of durable acrylic. This makes it more resistant to breakage and to outdoor weather conditions. The aluminum arm is incredibly sturdy and is 7.08 inches in length and has a mosaic base with screws that helps stabilize the mirror while you cycle across mountainous terrain. The best thing about the arm aside from its durable construction is that it can be bent to any angle. This model is compatible with 22- 32 mm handlebars and can also be installed in electric bikes as well as motorcycles.

The best bike locks 2022: the toughest bicycle locks from Kryptonite

The best bike locks might not be the cheapest bike accessory you're going to buy this year, but they are essential to ensure your bicycle stays where you chained it. A tough, dependable bike lock will is a worthwhile investment; if you can stretch to buying a new two-wheeler, then it’s also prudent to factor in some extra cash to cover security, and buying the right bike lock to suit your cycle should be part of the bike-buying process. To get more news about ebike lock, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

There's been a huge increase in cycling over the last few years and the extra demand for bikes that are much more appealing to thieves. The best electric bikes, in particular, are at risk of being nicked if not secured properly, and while some have an immobilizer that stops them from being activated and ridden away without you present, that won't stop someone picking them up and stashing them in a van.

All that means it’s never been more important to get a quality bike lock to ensure your cycle doesn't go missing, and we’ve collated the best and most secure bike locks you can buy here in this buying guide. We’ve tried to mix it up a little, too, with a selection that caters for different scenarios, while others offer a little more convenience thanks to their innovative designs.
It makes sense to go for a decent bike lock brand, and Kryptonite is up there with the best of them. This great little bundle comprises a 13mm hardened steel shackle, which features a double deadbolt anti-rotation design. The U-lock design doesn't weigh too much either (3.55lb/1.61kg), while the revised design is more secure than earlier editions.

The Mini-7 is much smaller than Kryptonite's standard locks, which makes it easier to mount on your bike's frame if space is limited (and gives a would-be thief much less room to manoeuvre their tools). The mount attaches to the frame securely using a rugged fabric strap that won't damage the paintwork, and the lock slides and clips into place with minimal fuss.

The Evolution Mini-7 comes complete with a Kryptoflex 410, a 4' 10" double-loop braided steel cable. This can be used to secure other bikes, wheels or accessories, which is essential since the Mini-7 U-lock is too small to attach to your bike's frame and a wheel. While it's not impregnable, the fiddly aspect of this combination makes the lock package a solid option for short-stay park-ups in cities and suburbs.

In our tests, we found that the lock can sometimes rattle a little within its holder when riding over bumpy ground, but it's firmly fixed in place and never in danger of coming loose, so this is a minor complaint.Another bike lock from the Kryptonite security stable, the New York Fahgettaboudit Mini, is sold without a cable but beefs up the security with an extra chunky design. It's seriously weighty (4.55lbs/2.06kg), which is something to bear in mind if you cannot mount it on your bike and carry it in a backpack, but that heft comes with security benefits.

The main difference between the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini and the Evolution Mini-7 is the oversized hardened steel sleeve, which is built to withstand attack from bolt cutters and leverage attacks. It makes the Fahgettaboudit Mini a lock that will keep your bike secure all day, even in busy cities.

Like the Kryptonite Evolution Mini-7, this lock's smaller design means you won't be able to hook it around your bike's frame, wheel, and whatever sturdy piece of street furniture you're attaching it to, but you could supplement it with an additional Kryptoflex cable if you like. This package includes the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain (with 14mm six-sided links) plus a 15mm steel shackle. Both elements are super strong, using hardened steel to ward off attacks. The disc-style cylinder locking mechanism is also pick-proof and drill-resistant. It has the same top-level security rating as the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini D-lock above. You can also use it to secure multiple bikes.

However, the chunkiness comes at a price, as this weighs 10.8lbs/4.91kg, which means it's better suited to locking your bike up at home than carrying it with you on the go. There's also a risk of the parts of the chain not covered by the nylon cover scuffing your paintwork if you're not careful.Cable locks are known to be weak and easy to snip through with a pair of bolt cutters, but that's not the case with the Titanker Bike Lock Cable, which bucks the trend thanks to its durable steel core.

Unlike D-locks, this Titanker model offers between four and six feet of flexible freedom, allowing it to be threaded around, through or under a bike and a mounting point. The four-digit combination lock mechanism means there's no key to worry about. However, bear in mind that the cover is plastic rather than metal, making it less durable than more expensive, heavy-duty bike locks like those from Kryptonite.

It's not a lock that'll let you leave your bike outside day and night, but it's light, convenient, and a good choice for making quick stops. Better still, it can be easily attached to your bike's frame while you ride using the mount included.

And if you want a fast yet comfortable cruiser-style electric bike that can carry a second rider, don’t overlook the Ride1Up Cafe Cruiser, which is on sale for $350 off, bringing the price down to $1,245.

6 Things People Didn’t Know About Bulletproof Vests

Bulletproof vests – the one item in a police officer’s job that they take for granted. If more law enforcement knew a little more about the vests saving their lives, they wouldn’t be so gun-shy about using it in the line of duty.To get more news about bulletproof level 4, you can visit bulletproofboxs.com official website.

1 – They’re Not Actually Bulletproof
The term “bulletproof vests” is actually a misnomer. The vests are actually bullet resistant. The reality is that bullet resistant vests don’t protect the wearer from every threat. Nothing is bulletproof, not even a manhole cover. In an extremely minute percentage of cases, a bullet can get through a vest that’s been rated to stop them. The bullet could have a serrated edge or something similar to it. Bulletproof vests do not make the wearer become Superman.

Body armor is meant to absorb impact of the projectile. Depending on the vest’s rating it may have stronger absorption than other vests. This does not make it bulletproof. Most manufacturers avoid the term when naming vests, even when the vest is up to the highest standard.

2 – How The Fabric Stops Bullets
Body armor is comprised of very strong non-woven and/or woven ballistic fibers. The material will stop a bullet similar to how a net will stop a tennis ball or volleyball. It causes the bullet to turn, slow it down and send its energy through the whole panel. The bullet mushrooms, which helps in the process. Keep in mind that the slower the bullet is, the better off the wearer is going to be. Bullets that have a hard tip or fired at a high velocity will get through the fibers and right through the bullet proof vest.

3 – Every Single Gun Is Deadly
Many gun enthusiasts disregard the deadly potential some kinds of handgun calibers have. However, any bullet – small or large – that travels at a high rate of speed will get through body armor. Huge handgun rounds such as .44 Magnum and .45 ACP will travel at slower speeds, which allows the body armor to stop them. However, .357 SIG and 9mm guns travel at a quicker speed and can’t stop them as easily.

Important: The shells of a shotgun are very dangerous to bulletproof vests wearers because vests are not rated for these kinds of bullets. The reason? Shot shells do not have a consistent velocity.

4 – Bulletproof Vests’ Lifespan
The majority of the United States’ body armor has a standard National Institute of Justice five-year service rating. When a vest is worn each day, it loses the protective capability quicker than one that sits on a shelf. It doesn’t matter how short or long the body armor is worn, the vest should be carefully looked over for any signs of damage – creases, tears, smells and burns. If properly taken care of, the vest should last five years. Be sure to follow the care instructions. Read more about the lifespan of a bullet proof vest here.

5 – Send In The Warranty Card
Make sure that the agency fills out the warranty card to register the vest. If they don’t, be sure that you do. The reason is that during e.g. a Zylon vest recall, many companies will have a difficult time getting in touch with customers because they failed to send the warranty cards back.

Smart Home trends you need to know for 2022

New innovations are continuously entering the Smart Home industry and have led to the ever-increasing growth of the Smart Home market. With approximately 175 million smart homes around the world and an excepted growth of 25% by 2025, Smart Home additions are going nowhere. To get more news about smart home system, you can visit securamsys.com official website.

Why are Smart Homes becoming so popular? Smart Home devices work together by sharing information and communicating with each other. This means they provide various benefits to the user, including convenience, comfort, and security.

But let’s not forget, at the heart of every Smart Home is a strong Wi-Fi system. Make sure you have your Mercku M6 Mesh System installed to allow your Smart Home to perform at its greatest potential. So, let’s have a look at the top Smart Home trends you need to transform your home in 2022.
Home Integration
Home integration is a result of smart devices working with one another, connecting from various points around your home, to deliver the ultimate Smart Home experience. For example, if the security camera located outside of your home detects a motion, it will send a signal to your mobile phone to alert you. Integration of your smart devices is therefore essential in a modern-day Smart Home.

Connectivity is central in enabling home integration as it is ultimately responsible for the functioning of all the smart devices in your home, allowing them to communicate and connect with one another easily. Home integration can be extremely beneficial for the user as it creates a streamlined Smart Home system which is easy to use, saving both time and effort.

Artificial Intelligence
As artificial intelligence (AI) standards continue to develop, so too does its ability to support Smart Home advancements. AI has the potential to be integrated throughout the home, in various areas and for various uses. For example, for security, in the refrigerator, updating shopping lists, or turning lights on or off. Therefore, AI is essential in your 2022 Smart Home.

Your Smart Home will provide you with many benefits. However, it will also increase your risk of security threats. AI has the capabilities to protect homeowners and their properties from security threats. AI devices have a variety of features, including facial recognition which can analyze a person and compare it to existing data, to identify who they are. AI can also support home security systems in examining potential threats, providing the homeowner with a well-defined analysis of their property and any potential threats.
Health Technology
With the increased importance of our health and well-being, the growth in popularity of health monitoring technology in Smart Homes is no surprise. The COVID-19 pandemic caused a surge in smart devices such as thermostats and air purifiers to ensure safety during a health crisis.

The closure of gyms as a result of the pandemic has also resulted in an increase in home exercise, in which smart technology has played a huge role. Products such as Lululemon’s Smart Mirror and Weights have allowed users to bring their gym routines into their homes, transforming home workout abilities.

Aside from the global pandemic’s push on smart health technology, sleep sensors, such as the Whoop 4.0, are one of the most popular smart home devices for health monitoring. The products track heart rate and body temperature to analyze the users’ sleep and have a gentle alarm which vibrates when it’s time to wake up. The surge in health technology has no doubt transformed their place in the Smart Home.

Recap
Technology advancements have resulted in Smart Homes becoming more of an essential than a novelty. So, there is no double that the rest of 2022 will bring further advances and innovations to the existing Smart Home technology you need.

To keep up with the 2022 Smart Technology trends, be sure to install Mercku’s M6 for maximum connectivity at the heart of your Smart Home!

The Best Repair Stands for Every Type of Bike and Maintenance

For most of us, our local bike shop will always come to the rescue for major repairs that require specialty tools or mechanic skills beyond our knowledge. But it doesn’t hurt to learn a few simple fixes or even to service your own bike to prevent small problems from becoming bigger (and more expensive) ones. And by working on your own bike, you not only save time and money, you also become more familiar with it and get to know how it works. For the most efficient home-repair experience, a good bike repair stand is a must. It holds your bike safely and conveniently, leaving your hands free to adjust components and giving you easier access to all critical service points. Depending on your level of expertise, you can opt for a basic bike repair stand or one that’s a bit higher-end. Our recommendations include both.To get more news about bluetooth bike speaker, you can visit magicyclebike.com official website.

Which Type of Clamp Best Suits Your Needs?
There are generally two types of repair stands: those that use a clamping mechanism to secure the bike by, well, pretty much any tube you choose to fix them to, and Euro-style models—sometimes called race stands—that secure your bike by the bottom bracket and front or rear dropout. Within those categories, there are portable and permanent stands and basic models versus those for the pros.
Vincent Gee, head mechanic for the Aevolo Pro Cycling Team, says he prefers a race stand when traveling to events because he can rotate the bike to access both sides without having to walk around it. And because most stands of this style fold down, he can fit them in his luggage if he has to fly to a race. But he prefers the clamp-style stands when doing front brake and headset work. Race-style stands will let you do that as well, but you have to flip the bike around and mount it by the rear dropouts.

What Kind of Wrench Are You?
If you’re a home mechanic who wants a stand for basic repairs and maintenance, and you have no intentions of setting up a permanent workshop, consider a portable model, like the Feedback Sports Pro Elite or the Park Tool Team Issue. These are often lighter and cheaper than the heavy-duty stands and fold down for easy storage. Some even come with a carrying case for transport. If your bike has hydraulic disc brakes, look for a stand with a second pivot, like the Topeak Prepstand X, which allows you to point the bike upward, with the bar facing the sky, for easy bleeding of the brakes.
If you have a dedicated space or think of yourself as more than a home mechanic, a permanent, pro-style stand, like the Park Tool Deluxe Double Arm Professional Work Stand, might better suit your needs. These are generally heavier, cost more, and have a sturdier clamping system—should you ever need to crank on something that just won’t budge—and either sit on a heavy-duty base or are permanently installed on your workshop floor. And if you plan to work on e-bikes, make sure the stand can support the weight and has a wide enough base to be stable when loaded. Many repair stands have a weight limit that’s high enough to support most e-bikes, but some of the lighter and/or portable stands that are meant for travel may not be appropriate.

Most of the stands on our list have been used and abused by our in-house mechanic and team of test editors—at home, in our shop, and out on the road at events. We also included a few options that we chose based on recommendations from professional and home mechanics, online reviews, and our experience using similar products. We evaluated every stand based on performance, price, stability, ease of use, and reliability. For anyone who’s tired of leaning their bike against a wall to make repairs, keep reading to find a stand that best suits your needs and budget.

Park Tool’s PCS-10.3 Deluxe Home Mechanic Repair Stand is a refinement on a product that has been a consistent high performer for years. The clamp mechanism will be familiar to anyone who’s had a recent Park Tool stand—it’s reliable and features a rubber guard to protect your bike from scratches. The tubes are constructed from lightweight steel, and the wide, stable base works well on level ground. The vertical tube is canted slightly forward for increased pedal clearance while a bike is loaded on the stand, and it comes with a height-adjustable tray for keeping a few tools close at hand. It has a claimed bike weight limit of 80 pounds, meaning you should feel free to hoist most e-bikes up there, as long as you can lift them high enough to get to the clamp. Our 6-foot-2 mechanic did note that this stand didn’t reach as high as he would like for some fixes.

This stand is made from a lightweight, sturdy aluminum alloy and telescopes to any height between 39 and 59 inches. Online reviewers noted that it’s best for light jobs such as tuning brakes and derailleurs. It has a magnetic plate to keep your tools close at hand while you’re working and folds down small when not in use. Reviewers noted that although the stand is designed to allow you to rotate the bike 360 degrees, doing this with heavier bikes put a lot of strain on the serrated teeth of the clamp arm. So if you plan to use it to wrench on your e-bike, you’ll want to invest in the “Heavy Duty” version ($168), which can hold up to 110 pounds.
