The report’s results recognize Yale’s recent significant investments into blockchain research, including the hiring of four new blockchain experts to the Computer Science faculty, — Ben Fisch, Charalampos Papamanthou, Katerina Sotiraki and Fan Zhang — one of whom is leading a project that has received a $5.75 million grant for blockchain development.

In August, Yale blockchain researchers accepted a $5.75 million grant from the Algorand Foundation, a not-for-profit organization focused on the development of blockchain technology.
The grant will support PAVE: A Center for Privacy, Accountability, Verification and Economics of Blockchain Systems, which will be led by Papamanthou. PAVE will bring together a cross-disciplinary team of experts from four institutions — Yale, Columbia University, the City College of New York and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne, with Yale being the leading institution — to advance research of blockchain systems.

Papamanthou spotlighted the newly established Roberts Innovation Fund created by the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, which assists blockchain projects that could be commercialized through funding and mentoring.

IFAKs come in many different shapes and sizes, but I am a big fan of this Blackhawk Foundation Series IFAK for general civilian everyday carry (EDC). What does happen every day are vehicle crashes, heavy machinery accidents, worksite accidents and dozens of other scenarios where one could face an injury that requires more than a basic first-aid kit. Even if you don’t carry a firearm for self-defense, a compact IFAK could still save your life in any number of situations.
As long as air can enter your lungs, you’re breathing properly and you don’t have excessive blood leaving your body, there is a solid chance you are currently alive. However one might be severely injured, if you can control the ABCs right away, then there is a high probability of survivability once you get to a doctor. Fortunately, it doesn’t really take many supplies to control the ABCs during a severe injury.
Let’s start with circulation. If you are operating a chainsaw, heavy equipment or are near anything that could sever an artery, you are a fool to do so without a good tourniquet. From combat and car crashed to loggers and construction sites, modern CAT tourniquets have saved many lives, and a minimum of two should be in your IFAK. Most experienced EMS personnel will tell you that if you need to apply one tourniquet, then it’s likely you will need to apply two. Even if you have severe bleeding on just one appendage, it can often take two tourniquets to properly stem the bleeding. Tourniquets can stay on for hours before you need to worry about permanent limb damage, so when it doubt, apply a tourniquet.

● Plastic Over Plastic - The substrate is rigid plastic. Then another rigid plastic is molded onto or around the substrate. In this way, it can help to improve the ergonomics of a product, manufacture the product in different colors and resins.
●Rubber and plastic overmolding - Different with plastic over plastic, the second mold plastic rubber, not rigid plastic. It is not only can combine different colored parts, also can fixing of rubber grips onto the stiff handle, which can add the flexibility to rigid parts, help to realized the functional of the parts.
The first substrate is metal, then rigid plastic will be molded around the substrate. This is often used for insert installing, which also called inserts over-molding.
